CIEN Watch

The networking company Ciena Corp. (CIEN) continued it's downward course for a third straight day. More than a third of the company's business is done outside of the United States, and a strong dollar, under impact of the Greek debt crisis, would lower margins on exports.

Today saw a decline of more than 10% intraday, but as the trading day drew to a close the price retraced about half of that decline, pulling back to near a resistance level set last April.

The chart shows a new parabolic sar bear signal today, and all the technical signals are pointing toward the downside, although the broader trend has been up since January 2009.
