No fresh breakouts under my rules from my scan today. This is a meandering market, full of sound and fury, signifying-- Well, something I'm sure, but it eludes me.
My chart scan included stocks on the CBOE penny increment options list, down to a volume of about 2 and quarter million shares, plus top foreign exchange-traded funds -- the BRICs and as many of the Next Eleven as have funds -- plus exchange-traded funds with typical volumes down to about 500,000 shares.
There were some breakouts are disallowed under my rule requiring that earnings be at least a month away. They are:
Bull: KO
Bear: BAC, BRCM, USB
