On action day for each -- the last trading session before the announcement -- I shall look at the more changeable characteristics of the symbol: Implied volatility, open interest on the options grid as an indication of liquidity. Any that meet my standards will be prospects for a full analysis and possibly a trade.
The next earnings season began on July 11 and will last for six weeks, through Aug. 19.
