11/8 Almanac

On Monday, Nov. 8: No econ reports.

There are 12 days before the November options expire, 40 the December and 75 the January.

On the jump, market stats, econ reports, and the trading calendar . . .

Stats

Blue chip stocks (SPY) closed the latest regular session up 0.4% from the prior close. During the day SPY traversed 0.6% in a net move up of 0.3%.

The day's extremes: Open $122.34, high $122.92, low $122.18, close $122.73.

SPY traded above the DeMark pivots before closing within their range. The next DeMark pivots are $122.46-$123.20.

In total, 3.3 billion shares were traded on the three major U.S. stock exchange, 14% fewer than on the prior trading day.

Five-year bond yields imply inflation at 1.21%.

Econ reports:

Treasury announces auction results on the 4-week bills at 11 a.m. Eastern. There are no reports on the economy scheduled for release.

The big reprt of the week is international trade on Wednesday.

Trading Calendar:

By my rules, at this point in the cycle I can trade December diagonal, butterfly, iron condor, vertical and calendar spreads, December covered calls and January straddles, calls and puts. And of course, shares are good at any time.

What I'm looking for:
  • Monitoring existing positions.

Watchlist stocks:
  • Bull: CMG, ENP, IDCC, LVS, MO.
  • Income: AOD, MRF, NLY.

Good trading!
