Friday's Finalists

One of the five symbols under consideration today, all with bull signals, failed confirmation. It is VNTV. (See "Friday's Prospects" for a description of the early rounds of analysis.)

Of the remaining four, three have options grids that fail to meet my standards for trading. CERN, ADI and AAT lack sufficient open interest on their options for me to use in construction positions that are both leveraged and hedged.

That leaves YHOO, which I have concluded is a counter-trend play. I'll post a brief analysis explaining why.

I also intend to look at YHOO as a paper trade under my project to test application of my volatility rules to non-event situations. (See "Testing: Expanding the volatility strategy".)
