Here's what and why not. Scheduled earnings announcements being too close for my comfort are the main reason for the stocks not meeting my criteria for consideration.
To recap, I don't want earnings to be announced during the term of the options month I'm trading nor for one week after expiration. This basically removes stocks announcing earnings through April 27 or so.
Is this rule to rigid? Could be. Depends upon what I'm trading and my overall comfort level with a stock. If the signal is with the trend on a steeply trending stock, I'd probably break the rule. Counter-trend or weakly trending issues? No way.
