My shares in AAPL, opened Oct. 24, 2014, had been intended as a position lasting at least a year in order to qualify for a cheaper tax rate. My new volatility strategy has proven to be so lucrative that I closed AAPL early to free up funds for the shorter-term trades and have updated the analysis with results.
I opened three positions coinciding with earnings announcements, in SLB, AXP and STX.
