4/16 Watchlist: Stocks

SPY gets voted off the island when the bull signal reverses. It was a profitable signal.

Stocks that showed Parabolic SAR bull signals:
  • A, analysis.
  • ANF, analysis. A decline with a pps bear signal. The bull signal was a WASH for a 0.1% loss.
  • * BBY, analysis
  • F, analysis.
  • * GE, analysis. A largish decline with a retracement that leaves the price in the range set three days earlier. Parabolic sar remains in bull phase.
  • KRE, analysis. Decline with a pullback, trading within the two-day prior range. Psar in bull phase.
  • SPY, analysis. The psar switched to bear phase. The bull signal was a SUCCESS with a 2.5% gain. Since the bear signal is counter-tend, SPY doesn't go on the bear list.
  • XLE, analysis. I pegged this as a $56 to $60 iron condor. It has moved back into the max-profit range.
  • XLF, analysis. Psar has switched to bear mode (although trading is within the one-week range). The bull signal was a SUCCESS with a 3.8% gain.
  • XRT, analysis.

Financial consultant Leslie Masonson describes a strategy for actively trading exchange-traded funds.

Stocks showing a Parabolic SAR bear signal:
  • * EEM, analysis. A decline to the April 1 level with the pps adding it's bearish weight to the psar.

Stocks of interest (I wouldn't necessarily trade them):
  • COST, analysis. Bear.
  • CUT, analysis. Bull. Pulled back. The bull signal is a WASH with a 0.4% gain.
  • FNM, analysis. Agnostic. Continues to trade with last Tuesday's range. The Fibonacci retracement level at $1.21 is acting as support.
  • * PALM, analysis. Agnostic
