Holdings

There are a lot of stalls in my remaining holdings.
  • AMD and IWM show price stalls, but the indicators remain bullish.
  • GE shows a price stall and an MFI reversal.
  • HD is going great guns, but the day is showing a spinning top candlestick pattern, which indicates a chance of reversal.
I'm hanging on to all of these for now, because none have met my exit rule: A bear signal on the Persons PPS, my principal indicator.

The earlier sale of CSCO and NVDA broke the exit rule -- neither had a Persons bear signal -- but they were earnings plays, and that fundamental factor overrode the rule for me.

Note to self: Change the rule.

To be a private trader is to be infinitely flexible. They're your rules. You can change them. Or not.

Closed NVDA +7.2%

I've closed my NVDA position at 13.17, a 7.2% profit over three trading days.

11/10 Watchlist

A typical holiday week. Volume is drying up prior to Veterans Day, and a few tumbleweeds have been spotted rolling down Wall Street. SPY volume is just shy of 130 million, compared to more than 228 million a week ago.

I'm thinking to close the two earnings plays of last week, CSCO and NVDA, simply because they're aging. The reason for the trade is gone.

No signals on the high-volume ETFs or individual company shares with strikes a dollar apart. (I mean, no signals, not no valid signals.)

So, bottom line: No trades opened today. Possibly a couple of closures in the last half hour.

11/10 Morningline

In early going, the large caps (SPY) continue in bull mode; the price is pausing after Monday's upward move.

Also in bull mode, with the momentum indicators turning contrary: GLD, EUR/USD.

Long bonds (TLT) continue in bear mode, as does the USD/JPY currency pair. In the case of bonds, the money flow index has begun to move contrarywise, along with a rising price.

Among my holdings, still in bull mode: AMD, GE (contrary mfi), HD, IWM (with a contrary mfi), CSCO and NVDA (whose mfi is now back in a bullish direction).
