11/22 Almanac

On Monday, Nov. 22: No econ.

There are 26 days before the December options expire, 61 the January and 89 the February.

On the jump, market stats, econ reports, and the trading calendar . . .

Stats

Blue chip stocks (SPY) closed the latest regular session up 0.3% from the prior close. During the day SPY traversed 0.8% in a net move up of 0.3%.

The day's extremes: Open $119.90, high $120.23, low $119.25, close $120.29.

SPY traded below above the DeMark pivots before closing within their range. The next DeMark pivots are $119.77-$120.75.

In total, 2.9 billion shares were traded on the three major U.S. stock exchange, 10% fewer than on the prior trading day.

Five-year bond yields imply inflation at 1.71%, up 2 basis points from the prior trading day.

Econ reports:

There are no economic reports scheduled for release. Treasury announces auction results for four-week bills at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Look for gross domestic product and existing home sales on Tuesday, durable goods and personal income and outlays on Wednesday.

All markets are closed Thursday for Thanksgiving Day.

Trading Calendar:

By my rules, at this point in the cycle I can trade December diagonal, butterfly, iron condor, vertical and calendar spreads, December covered calls and January or February straddles, calls and puts. And of course, shares are good at any time.
